One of my recent photo shoot with Arkansas Business took me high above downtown Little Rock. My subject was George Makris, chairman and CEO of Simmons First National Corporation. The photos were for an Arkansas Business profile on Makris and Simmons recent and explosive growth in the banking world.

I had several other angles of Mr. Makris showing the skyline of downtown Little Rock, but it was a very hot, humid and extremely hazy July afternoon so the city looked quite ugly. So I revamped my angles to find something very powerful and dynamic.

Last week I met up with and photographed Hugh McDonald, president and CEO of Entergy Arkansas Inc., for Arkansas Business.

According to the article, McDonald, said the company is in the middle of a planned $2.4 billion investment in capital improvements in generation, distribution and transmission projects, which began in 2014 and will run to 2017.

Those infrastructure projects include deploying improved technologies. McDonald pointed to new generators that are 30 percent more efficient than the older technology as an example of such innovations. The utility is also deploying more renewable energy, including a proposed 81-megawatt solar energy plant in Arkansas County.

I've had an extremely hectic past few weeks so I'm a little behind on my blogging. I've had numerous portrait photo shoots, one magazine shoot, interiors and a fabulous two-day food shoot.

Several of those project will be posted in the weeks and months to come but for now, here's a small recap of just a few of the executive portraits I've photographed over the last few weeks.
