Enviornmental Portrait | Millie Ward of Stone Ward

Last week, I photographed Millie Ward, president of Stone Ward for Arkansas Business for a profile on her and her career as one of Arkansas leaders in Advertising.

Photographing Millie was a real treat.

Millie was open to just about any idea I had and her outgoing personality really shined. As the  president of Stone Ward of Little Rock, Millie has been in the advertising business for 40 years and she was recently inducted into the University of Arkansas Business Hall of Fame.

Milken Educator Awards | Arkansas Editorial Photographer

I was contacted in mid-February by the Director of Creative Services at the Milken Family Foundation to photograph the presentation of the Milken Educator Awards for both Arkansas and Louisiana.

The Milken Educator Awards targets early-to-mid career education professionals for their already impressive achievements and, more significantly, for the promise of what they will accomplish in the future. The award is considered "The Oscars" for educators and each winner in given an award of $25,000. To date, more than 2,600 Awards have been given out, totaling over $65 million.

I am very familiar with this award. When I was a photographer for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, I had covered many of these awards. One of the most exciting things about these awards is the winner does not know he or she has won until the big announcement. It's kept a secret from everyone.

You can see the galleries from Arkansas and Louisiana by going here.

Congratulations to the Arkansas MEA winner, Carman McBride from Don Roberts Elementary in Little Rock.

Congratulations to the Louisiana MEA winner, Lindsey Parker from North DeSoto Elementary 3-5 School in Stonewall, Louisiana.

Environmental Portrait | Yellow Rocket Concepts - Arkansas Photographer

I recently met up and photographed the team at Yellow Rocket Concepts for Arkansas Business. Local Lime in the Promenade at Chenal with the setting.

If you've never heard of YRC, that's fine. Most people haven't, but you certainly know them by what they do.

These men, John Beachboard, Scott McGehee and Russ McDonough are the partnership behind some of Little Rock's most popular - and successful - local restaurants: Local Lime, Heights Taco & Tamale Company. ZaZa Fine Salad & Wood Oven Pizza Co., Big Orange and Lost Forty Brewing.

If you haven't had the chance to eat, or drink, at any of these local places, you're missing out. The spinach enchiladas from Local Lime and the ZaZa Italian Sausage Pizza are tops on my list.
