Project for Restoration Eye Care | Columbia, MO | Arkansas Commercial Photographer

Back in the fall, I was hired to photograph a series of photos for Restoration Eye Care in Columbia, Missouri. Located at The Forum Medical Park, Restoration is a state of the art clinic that performs Lasik and cataract eye surgery. We spent a full Saturday in the clinic to avoid interruption of patient care during the week.

We photographed a series of portraits of the doctors, patient treatment, patient consultations, and several clinic beauty interiors.

The staff and doctors at Restoration Eye Care were simply wonderful to work for and to work with. They had very clear and specific needs for the photos, but they were also open and very reception to creative ideas and use of dramatic lighting.

After the project was completed, the client was very, very pleased with the images.

"Karen is an abundantly talented photographer who is set apart from others in her field by her professionalism and personable manner.  Her direct, yet affable, demeanor lent itself to an efficient photo shoot, and our results were outstanding.  She is someone who understands the difference between getting the shot that you think you want and getting the shot that you actually need and she puts in the work to make that happen."

Chris Danforth, Director of Marketing and Technology, Restoration Eye Care.

I hope to be able to work with them again in the future.

Project for Elite Duck Calls | Little Rock Arkansas Commercial and Advertising Photographer

These are not just duck calls. These are truly works of art.

My latest photo shoot for Elite Duck Calls was photographing their newest line of calls made of Cocobola Wood. Cocobolo is a tropical hardwood from Central America. Only the heartwood is used which is typically orange or reddish-brown in color, often with a figuring of darker irregular traces weaving through the wood. The less-common sapwood is a creamy yellow, with a sharp boundary with the heartwood. The heartwood is known to change color after being cut, lending to its appeal. Because it stands up well to repeated handling and exposure to water, a common use is gun grips and knife handles.

But for Elite, it's duck calls.

As I was setting up the lighting and getting everything balanced, I just kept staring at these. I could not get over how pretty they are. I even stopped mid-shoot to call my client to comment on how pretty they are. These are all hand-made with a superb tone.

Thanks again to Elite Duck Calls for the opportunity to work with you once again!
