In June, I switched gears from photographer to wardrobe assistant when I worked for two days with Pulse Films on a national spot for Intel filmed in Little Rock. I work in production at every opportunity, especially with my husband's company, Backfocus Productions.

The spot featured a local basketball coach and the way he uses one of Intel's newest tablets and its technology to help him and his basketball team.

The production for this was quite large. The crew, including the client and creatives, were over 30. The cast (two full basketball teams, coaches, refs, cheerleaders, etc.) was over 50. They also had 150 extras as fans.

That's were I came into play.

As wardrobe assistant, it was my job to make sure the cast was dressed perfectly. All of the basketball players had custom uniforms and all needed to be steamed and wrinkle-free. In addition to the cast, we (myself and head of wardrobe, Shirley) had to make sure all of the extras were dressed accordingly.

The extras were asked to arrive with specific clothing preferences: specific color choices, solid colors, no branding, no visible labels. So if someone showed up in a Boston Red Sox baseball hat (as someone did), he had to either remove the hat or turn it around backwards.  For those who did not arrive in their requested attire (like a loud, lime-green T-shirt) myself and Shirley passed out extra clothing approved by the client.

It was a great two days with a wonderful client and crew!
